What started out as a good idea at the time has turned out to be an act of obsession - insanity even...
Ever since I bought one brand new in 1978, I have had a never-ending love affair with the incredibly beautiful CR250R. This is my third since I started vintage racing in 2000 and it has always been a dream of mine to build the perfect CR.
The one I raced the last couple of years was a great bike but seeing money was a bit short and I had almost enough parts to build another bike, I decided to sell my bike and build the perfect Evo racer with the money, and have a little left over at the end.
Yeah right. I put all that money plus some but what I now have is something I'm extremely proud of. The new one has everything I ever wanted to do to the mighty beast but could never afford. If it goes half as good as it looks I'll be happy, all I need is to lose some weight and learn to ride again. Check out VMX Magazine No. 25, page 54 for full details of the resto.
Here's a list of parts and suppliers.
